The Passion Poppy enamel clip Earrings are part of a range of poppy jewellery designed and developed in England as a timeless memento of the centenary of The Great War of 1914 – 1918.  Each piece captures the simplicity of the delicate and poignant crimson poppy.

Traditionally we honour the memory by wearing Poppies, a flower that bloomed throughout the fields of battle, and so synonymous with remembrance after The Great War and with all conflicts ever since.

Inspired by John McRae’s immortal poem ‘In Flanders Fields’ the poppy became synonymous with the terrible sacrifice of the 1st World War and ultimately became a symbol of remembrance which to this day encompasses the fallen in all conflicts.

In August 2014 the world will mark the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War.The war reached out and touched almost everyone’s life in some way or other. Children grew up in the shadow of battle, their fathers absent or lost. Women became directly involved, picking up the pieces of industry and agriculture as the men went off to fight.
