The poppy as you will no doubt know became the symbol for remembrance for most of the Allied nations after the Great War, e.g.. England, Scotland, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa and America. Le Bleuet is the national flower of France, stylised from the cornflower which like the poppy flourished in the broken soil of the Western Front and the Horizon Blue uniforms of the French soldiers.
