Le Bleuet De France, Realistic National Flower for Remembrance
£7.50
Le Bleuet DE France Brooch
The Cornflower is the national flower of France for remembrance, otherwise known as Le Bleuet. It is guesswork as to how it arrived with this name, one theory is derived from the Cornflower which flourished in the broken soil of the trenches of the Western Front and a slang expression for the Horizon Blue uniforms issued to new recruits in 1914. Prior to this the French went to war in red trousers and dark blue coats.
This version is a new addition to our range, we have taken a picture of a real Cornflower printed it on white enamel backed with stainless steel and then coated it in epoxy for durability.
It has a magnetic fitting so therefore no holes in your expensive garments.
Size – 25mm in diameter.
