Sku: LWF-WR01

During the early days of the second battle of Ypres a yound Canadian artillery officer, Lieutenant Alexis Helmer was killed. He was serving in the same unit as a friend of his, the Canadian military doctor and artillery commander Major John McCrae. It is believed that folowing the burial John began to draft his now famous poem ‘In Flanders Fields’

Inspired by John McRae’s immortal poem ‘In Flanders Fields’ the poppy became synonymous with the terrible sacrifice of the 1st World War and ultimately became a symbol of remembrance which to this day encompasses the fallen in all conflicts.

Following instructions from our Canadian friends we have decided to create this ‘We Remember’ Poppy pin.
